THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FACE-TO-FACE MEETING OF THE UP HOLD PROJECT WAS HELD IN ISTANBUL

The first international meeting of the Up Hold Project, which aims to increase women’s entrepreneurship, was held face-to-face in Istanbul on 19-20 August. The first international meeting of the project, which was carried out under the coordination of Istanbul Pendik Municipality and in which our University was a partner, was delayed due to the pandemic. In addition to Pendik Municipality, the project team of organizations in Poland, Slovakia and Spain, which are other partner countries, attended the meeting. Prof.Dr. Hatice Yurtsever, Assoc.Dr. Pınar Pehlivan and Lecturer Dr. Metin Aşçı from the project team attended the meeting as representing of our university.

At the first face-to-face meeting, the details of the intellectual output led by our University were discussed. Project Coordinator Hatice Yurtsever made a presentation in the first part where the content of the home economics and financial literacy training program and the cooperation with the partners were discussed. In addition, the details of the pilot trainings to be given to women and the techniques to be used in the training were also discussed. The task distribution of the next intellectual outputs was also discussed at the meeting.

On the second day of the meeting, a visit was made to PEGMER (Pendik Women Entrepreneur Center) affiliated to Pendik Municipality. A few examples of women entrepreneurs were presented after the official of the institution was briefed about the activities of the institution. Information was given about the support women entrepreneurs received from this center and the businesses they established with these supports.

It was also decided at the meeting that the next international meeting will be held in Slovakia in December 2021.
